  The Saloon is a favorite among the college crowds owing to the popular Monkey Boys and cheap beer specials. There is often live music, but you will need to pay cover most nights. Be aware that monkey boys are not always on special, so you'll pay a nasty $12 instead of $5 if you go on the wrong day/time. It gets very crowded late at night, weekends, and football weekends. Wednesday is a big night at Saloon if you need a mid-week hoorah. The toilet situation is like most other State College bars.... A long wait for the ladies. They have some seating, but it mostly gets snatched up by early-comers. The wait staff and bar tenders are great and professional, but it can take awhile to be served. It's underground, so don't expect any views, but it's a great party once a good band takes the stage. Awesome for dancing in a non-club atmosphere.

  Spent lots of time here as a student. Good live music. Try a monkey boy at least once.
